Vercipia: accelerating the development of better, more sustainable biofuels
Vercipia is advancing next-generation biofuels to the market through development and commercialization of cellulosic ethanol, a non-food based, renewable transportation fuel. Vercipia, which means "green beginnings", will utilize dedicated energy canes and grasses, both abundant biomass feedstocks, in conjunction with novel enzymatic conversion technology in its production process. Vercipia plans to develop one of the first fully integrated cellulosic ethanol production facilities in Highlands County, Florida. Vercipia is optimally positioned as an organization that features the combined strengths of entrepreneurial technology innovation, as well as global engineering and operation experience. We are deeply committed to the development of sustainable energy sources; Vercipia represents the cutting edge in the vitally important effort to make cellulosic ethanol a commercially viable transportation fuel.
Construction has begun on the farm and Vercipia expects to break ground on the industrial facility next year. Facility construction is expected to take approximately two years to complete.
